Tracy Sherrod is the editorial director of Amistad, the premier publisher of African-American fiction and nonfiction, showcasing award-winning novelists, celebrated cultural figures and esteemed critics and scholars. Prior to founding her own agency -- Tracy Sherrod Literary Services -- in 2002, Sherrod was a senior editor at Simon & Schuster. She has held editorial positions with Harlequin, Henry Holt, The Feminist Press, and Essence magazine.
