I have taught English and creative writing at the high school level for 24 years, and hold my MEd and MA in English from UMass Boston and MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College. I am thrilled to have had short fiction and prose poetry published in literary magazines such as Sheepshead Review, Burningword, and Black Heart, and have been working on an upmarket fiction novel since 2015. In 2019, I launched my small business, Liz Mastrangelo Writing Coach, by pitching college-essay-coaching services to local high school students. Though I also tutor students in English and writing, the college essay branch of my business has grown the most vigorously over the past five years, with my clients doubling in number each year via word-of-mouth referrals, social media recommendations, and sibling bookings. I love my side hustle, and want to make my side hustle my only hustle so that I can live a more flexible lifestyle while writing my novel in the quieter moments!
